Tom graduated from William & Mary where he met his wife, Janice. After college he served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army and then became a dedicated high school math teacher in Baldwin, NY and a Nassau Community College professor. He enjoyed his retirement spending time in Manhattan, Amagansett, NY, and Florida.
Tom was an avid runner well into his fifties and ran in the NYC Marathon. He was also a fitness fanatic who started lifting weights at 17 and continued until age 85. He developed life-long friendships from high school, college, teaching and the communities he lived in New York, North Carolina, and Florida.
Tom was a loving grandfather to seven: Matthew, Christopher, Emerson, James, Jeffrey, Brian and Elissa.
Tom Dellaero is survived by his daughter, Laurie Dellaero and husband Steve Klotz; sons, David Dellaero and wife Joanne, Ken Dellaero; brother, Ray Dellaero and wife Linda; and sister, Pam Garkowski and husband Carl.
A Celebration of Life will be planned in the future.

Tom was my neighbor in Cary, NC. I´ll remember him as a kind and thoughtful man who loved his family. It was sad when he left to move to Florida permanently, but he just loved his condo and friends there.
