Age 80, of Dyer, Indiana, and formerly of New Lenox, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Born on January 17, 1945, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Thomas Lawrence Frazzini was the son of Lawrence and Genevieve (Mazzocco) Frazzini. He was raised in Chicago Heights and graduated from Marian Catholic High School with the Class of 1963. Tom went on to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Detroit in 1968, where he also participated in ROTC. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Army, fulfilling his obligation by serving in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, he married Linda M. Thompson on May 15, 1971, at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Park Forest, Illinois.

Shortly after their marriage, Tom and Linda moved to California, where Tom began working for the U.S. Navy Civil Service. During their time there, they welcomed their two children before eventually returning to Illinois.

Tom continued to advance his education throughout his career, ultimately earning two master’s degrees, lastly including an MBA from Governors State University. Professionally, he began his Illinois career with the U.S. Department of Energy at Argonne National Laboratory. In 1984, he transitioned to PerkinElmer, where he worked as a software engineer until retiring in 2009.

Tom was an avid golf enthusiast and was proud to have played 18 holes just days before his passing. He also enjoyed watching television, especially keeping up with the news and laughing along with his favorite sitcoms. He was known for his vast knowledge and handyman skills and eagerness to lend a helping hand to any family or friend in need.

Above all, Tom found his greatest joy in being a grandfather. He took immense pride in his grandsons and their accomplishments. He will be remembered for his confident demeanor, sharp memory, hearty appetite, and love of cooking. A gifted storyteller with a warm laugh, Tom brought joy to those around him and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; children: Debra (Brent) Cunningham of Rye, New York and Mark (Terri) Frazzini of Oak Forest, Illinois; grandsons: Jack and Carter Cunningham, and one sister, Carol (Bill) Elliott of Olympia Fields, Illinois, as well as various additional family members including sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joyce Frazzini.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Tom will be laid to rest with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Those wishing to attend are requested to assemble at the cemetery welcome center at 9:30 a.m.
