Thomas Jimmie Hare, Sr.

Thomas Jimmie Hare, Sr., 85, of Westminster, S.C., passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on October 1, 1939, in Westminster, S.C., he was the son of the late Cliff Hare and Claudell Spencer Hare. He was the devoted husband of the late Myra Rogers Hare, with whom he shared 65 cherished years.

Thomas worked as a Millwright at Duke Power, where his strong work ethic and dedication earned the respect of his coworkers. He was a faithful member of Westminster Church of God, where his faith and fellowship were central parts of his life.

He is survived by his son, Tommy Hare (Debbie) of Newton, N.C., and his daughters, Ivy Lynn Smith (Freddy), Ladone Hare, and Gina Martin (Randall) all of Westminster, S.C. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Owens. Thomas was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Hare.

A proud grandfather, Thomas leaves behind six grandchildren: Thomas Hare (Katie), Carrie Withers (Will), Brent Smith (Tracy), Bradley Smith (Kayla), Harris Martin (Brittany), and Amanda Smith. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Scotty Smith. His legacy continues through his grandchildren and his thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him great joy.

Thomas will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love of hard work, and the values he passed down through generations.

A Graveside service to honor his life will be held at Calvary Church Cemetery, 10102 Long Creek Hwy, Westminster, S.C., Monday, August, 25th, 2025 at 11:15am. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am at Sandifer Funeral Home.

The family will be at the residence of his daughter, Ivy Smith, 400 Theo Martin Rd, Westminster, S.C.
