Obituary of Thomas Arthur Kain
Thomas Arthur Kain, 59, of Glen Gardner, New Jersey, passed away on July 1, 2025, at Morristown Medical Center.
Born on March 14, 1966, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, Tom was the son of the late James and Diana Kain. He was a 1984 graduate of Warren County Technical School. After a brief time working as an electrician's apprentice, Tom discovered his true calling behind the wheel as a truck driver-a profession he loved and took great pride in. Most recently, he was employed by Access Information Management in Washington, New Jersey.
Tom was a hardworking and dependable man whose strong work ethic began early in life. He was known not only for his dedication to his job but for his unwavering loyalty and kind heart. He was a man of many friends-always the one others could count on in times of need-and he had a charm and warmth that made him beloved by all who knew him.
Above all, Tom was a devoted and loving father. His greatest pride was his son, Geri Kain. Tom never tired of sharing how proud he was of Geri's accomplishments, especially his college graduation and the pursuit of his doctorate degree.
Tom had a deep love for music and found joy in attending concerts. Some of his favorite bands included Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, and Pink Floyd. He also enjoyed traveling-especially to Aruba, his favorite place on earth-and had a passion for the sea. He was fascinated by old wooden ships and dreamed of one day owning one. In the meantime, he built an impressive collection of ship models gathered from his many adventures.
A proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Friends of Bill W. Club, Tom achieved and maintained sobriety and used his own journey to support others. He was instrumental in starting AA programs within prisons throughout New Jersey, offering hope and guidance to those in need.
Tom is predeceased by his parents, James and Diana Kain and his brother Billy Kain. He is survived by his cherished son, Geri Kain, and Geri's fiancée, Diana Perrine; his loving girlfriend, Dawn Williams; his siblings: Eric Kain, Jim Kain and his wife Barbara, and Jen Kain; as well as dear friends Kevin and Stacey Alpaugh, and Mark and Kathy Lindaberry.
Cremation will be held privately, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date to celebrate Tom's life.
