Born April 23, 1957, Thomas, Tom, McHugh was called to heaven on April 4, 2025 while surrounded by family. He was born and raised in Stockton, California and made Colorado his permanent home in the Fall of 2019. He grew up enjoying the outdoors all year long. He sailed the Delta, had early morning runs, and skied as often as possible. He grew into an avid cyclist, participating in as many charity rides as possible. His favorite day of the week was Wednesday. Even though he was a Financial Advisor by trade, he became “Dr. McHugh” on Wednesdays, skiing Vail as long as the snow kept falling with a group of MD’s. They would then trade in the skis for their bicycles. Either way, it was guaranteed that Tom would make a new friend along the way. He was the most friendly, interested man you will ever meet. Beyond his activities and outgoing style, Tom was a family man first; deeply dedicated to his immediate and extended family.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents John and Renee McHugh. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Mrs. Jayne McHugh, sons Ryan McHugh (Sofia), Jack McHugh (Macki), sisters Sally Pagliai (Kyle Jackson) and Katie McHugh (Cristina Candido), and many other loving family members.
Tom’s infectious, friendly, caring personality will live on through his sons, through all of his dear friends, but also through everyone he randomly met along the way. His sparkling blue eyes will never be forgotten.
There is a celebration of life scheduled for April 10, 2025, 10:00 am, at the Horan McConaty Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Rd., Centennial, CO. A reception will follow at Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club, 23155 E. Heritage Parkway, Aurora, CO. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Tom’s home town of Stockton, CA at a later date.
