With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas "Tommy" Mortensen, who left us on February 3, 2025, at the age of 54. Born in Minnesota on May 23, 1970. Tommy later moved to New York fell in love and married Karen Mortensen.
After Karen's passing, Tommy later made his home in Pleasant Valley, where he built a life filled with love, family, and hard work.
He is survived by his beautiful daughter, Michelle Mortensen, who was his greatest pride and joy, and predeceased by Michelle's mother, Charlene Vega.
Tommy also leaves behind his loving father, Michael Mortensen, mother, Melanie Schilling and loving step mother, Deanna D'Orsi, siblings - Jennifer Schmidt, Cristina Mortensen, Crystal Mortensen, Amanda Mortensen, Samantha Mortensen, Kyle Schaible, and many nieces and nephews - each of whom will deeply miss his presence, humor, and unwavering love.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Tommy was a lifelong employee at Stop & Shop, where he was known for his strong work ethic, friendly nature, and the connections he built with coworkers.
He had a deep love for football and NASCAR, always cheering on his favorite teams and enjoying the excitement of race days. His passion for sports was only surpassed by his love for family.
