Thomas Charles Schapker passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the age of 55. Thomas loved his family and was dedicated to his brother, Jeron.
Born on April 29, 1969 to Jerome (Jerry) and Sharon Schapker, Thomas was always happiest when surrounded by his family and friends.
He is survived by his father, Jerry; brother, Jeron Schapker; half-sister, Victoria Adam; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Thomas enjoyed playing basketball, swimming, bowling, softball and participating in the Special Olympics in which he won many medals and trophies.
He graduated from Glenbard High in Wheaton, Illinois and was a member of the Western Dupage Special Recreation Association where he participated in many activities, such as; swimming, stage performances, camping trips to various state parks, baseball games, a cruise to the Caribbean and a trip to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.
Thomas was employed in various positions throughout his career as a grocery worker, fast food and associate at Ameriqual Foods for Evansville ARC and many, many other positions at ARC Industries.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to Kelly Alexander for her help and support of Thomas and his brother since the passing of their mother in November of 2024.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2024 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., Evansville with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2025 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Rd., Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the church with Father Jason Gries officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Vanderburgh County, PO Box 962, Evansville, IN 47706.
