Thomas James Seitz was born on August 26, 1941 in Barry County, Missouri, to Emit H (Jack) Seitz and Ora Nell Stubblefield. At the time of Tom's birth, his parents were 20 and 38 years old, respectively.
Tom graduated from Cassville High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri.
He owned Western Chemical Pumps for 38 years, where he established himself as a successful business owner. In his early years, Tom served in the Air Force and was stationed at Mather Field in Sacramento, California, where he specialized in repairing Hycon 73B cameras.
Tom lived a long and fulfilling life, passing away peacefully at the age of 84 on September 7, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emit Seitz and Ora Stubblefield, and his siblings, Dale Seitz, Willard Seitz, and Mildred Seitz.
Tom is survived by his significant other Marilyn Sy, his sister Kathy Buchanan and her husband Norman Buchanan, his sister Clarice Al-Ghannam, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, with the funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Buckner Hill Cemetery, 1450 S Buckner Tarsney Rd, Buckner, Mo.
The family requests that, instead of sending flowers, donations be made to the Barry County Museum. Donations in memory of Tom Seitz may be sent by check payable to the Barry County Museum.
