Thomas G. Smith, Jr.
Pittsburgh, PA
February 14, 1965 – February 24, 2025
Thomas G. Smith, Jr.-known to many as Tommy-was born on February 14, 1965, in Pittsburgh, a city close to his heart.
A 1983 graduate of Fox Chapel High School and Edinboro University, he developed a genuine passion for Pittsburgh's sports teams-the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins-and enjoyed the steady ritual of reading the newspaper and working through a challenging New York Times crossword puzzle.
In his youth, Tommy's love for baseball was evident, and as he grew older, he found relaxation on the golf course, especially on Sundays. His life was marked by a sincere spirit, a steady presence, and a clear love for the simple pleasures that made each day meaningful.
Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Thomas G. Smith, and is survived by his mother, Kandy Smith-Miller (Bill) of Miromar Lakes, FL; his sister, Kelly O'Donnell of Pittsburgh, PA; his brother, Michael Smith of Alexandria, VA; as well as his nieces and nephew. Beyond his immediate family, he leaves behind countless friends and many cousins, all of whom cherished his warm nature and genuine character.
A celebration of Tommy's life will be held at a later date, offering a time for family and friends to gather, share stories, and honor his lasting impact on our lives. May his memory continue to remind us of the value of passion, simplicity, and community.

This is some really sad news. Tommy and I were friends through HS and had many, many good times together. I think the last time I saw him was up at Edinboro. I'm sorry to hear this and my sincere condolences to his mom, sister, brother and other loved ones.
