Thomas Edward Sprouse Sr., age 63, of Monterey, formerly of Churchville, died Wednesday evening, December 2nd, 1992 at his home.

He was born March 13, 1929 in Covington, Virginia, and was a son of the late Wilford and Theressia (Bazzrea) Sprouse.

He was a member of the Augusta Springs United Methodist Church and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr Sprouse had worked as an electrician for the Daniel Construction Company for 13 years before retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Goff Sprouse of Churchville; three daughters, Kathy S. Griffin of Monterey, Judy Martin and Betty Knight, both of Craigsville; a granddaughter, Michelle Griffin of Monterey; a special friend, Fred Whitelaw of Monterey; two brothers, Albert T. Sprouse, of Stuarts Draft, and Dallas Sprouse of Talcott, W.Va.; two sisters, Shirley Martin of Grottoes, and Daisy Brooks, of Staunton; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Dale Sprouse and Thomas E. Sprouse Jr.

A funeral service will be conducted at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. David Schill and the Rev. Jerry N. Ginn. Burial will be in the Craigsville Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Russell McCutcheon, Bobby McManaway, John Meade, Sam Colaw, Raymond Smith, Steve Knight Sr., Robert and Ron Whitelaw.
