Thomas John Tarantino, age 73 of Lilburn, GA, peacefully passed away September 24th, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Rose Tarantino; and his brother, Terry Tarantino. He is survived by his wife, Meredith Tarantino; his sons, Joseph of Cumming, GA and Jonathan of Nashville, TN; and his grandchildren, Geno and Kate Tarantino of Cumming, GA.; he is also survived by his brothers, Joe (Marlene), Steve (Terri), Anthony (Jody) and Gerry; and his sisters, Roseanne Kriebel (Pete), Mary Phillips, Theresa Clements, Judy Lawlor (Michael), Christine Johnson and Gina Delano (Dave).
Tom worked at, and retired from, Emory University for 29 years as a construction project manager where he led several projects that helped modernize and uphold the university's rich history. He was a regular parishioner at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church where he was a member of the That Man Is You men's group while also being an active member in the church's prayer group. Prior to joining St. Stephen's Catholic Church, he was a parishioner of Saint John Neuman. Additionally, he was part of the board that planned the construction of its brand-new church.
Tom was a gifted carpenter and baker and loved playing golf, cards and board games and also officiated football for GHSA through the Georgia Football Officials Association (GFOA). He coached both Joseph's and Jonathan's youth baseball teams while growing up and was an amazing influence in their lives. Tom most of all loved God and fully believed in Jesus Christ, his Savior. He loved his family beyond measure – married to his wife, Meredith, for 49 years, an incredible father to his sons, Joseph and Jonathan and greatly loved his grandchildren, Geno and Kate. His kindness, love and legacy will live on through us all.
