TImothy Walsh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Justen Funeral Home & Crematory - McHenry on Aug. 19, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Timothy (Tim) Vincent Walsh, a towering giant of wry humor, passed away on August 13, 2025, in McHenry, IL. Born on July 9, 1955, in Evanston, IL.

Tim was a wealth of knowledge and wit. He had a natural ability to bring family and friends together through hilarious storytelling and delightfully marginal fact-sharing. He created an environment where all were welcome to be themselves-as long as they could take a joke. His presence was a gift, easily enjoyed, and will be eternally missed.

Tim was an avid sports fanatic. Regardless of the game, he relished the thrill of competition and the camaraderie it inspired. Notably, he was the TV guide nobody knew they needed. He often called his brother to discuss the latest in sports and entertainment, rattling o stats and names with uncanny precision.

With a passion such as Tim's, it came as no surprise that he anointed himself "The Kingo of Bingo" at The Pearl of Crystal Lake (aka "The Lodge"), where he lived for the past year. Beyond sports, Tim had a great love for food. Rain or shine, Tuesdays were sacred-his day for $1 hot dogs and milkshakes at the Beef Shack. He also enjoyed his time in the kitchen, where he could whip up a mean chicken parmesan or, on a riskier day, a questionable chicken bone soup. For Tim, food

was never just about flavor or quality; it was about the joy of gathering people together, creating another opportunity for laughter and connection.

Many knew him as "Uncle Buck"-a man of large presence, quick wit, and an unmistakable uniform of sweatpants with suspenders. His love for those around him was larger than life, and his next move was always unpredictable, keeping everyone on their toes. His life could have filled the pages of a great book; with his creativity and knack for storytelling, he might well have been a bestselling author-had he not instead achieved unparalleled success in DoorDash.

Tim was a beloved brother to Maureen Sullivan, Jim Walsh, and Marty (Marge) Walsh, and a devoted father to Coley Walsh. He was dearly loved by his nieces and nephews: Kyra, Kevin, Katie (Tim), Maggie, Danny (Brittaney), and Sheila.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Vincent and Sheila Walsh, and his respected brother-in-law, Jim Sullivan.

As we bid farewell to Tim, we remember a man whose heart was as big as his presence, and who will be missed profoundly by his family and the many friends he met along his seventy-year journey.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held on Sunday, September 7, at the VFW, 117 S 1st Street, West Dundee, IL 60118, from noon to 4:00 pm. Family and friends are warmly invited to share lunch and memories in his honor.
