Tom Welding

STOW - James Thomas (Tom) Welding, 74, of Stow, Ohio, died on December 17, 2024, after a short illness.
Born in Euclid, Ohio, on January 12, 1950, he had been a Stow resident since 1974. Tom graduated from Hudson High School, and went on to The Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. He further pursued his higher education and received a Master of Science degree in Education from the University of Akron. Tom retired from the Summit County Health Department with 35 years as the Director of Environmental Health. He also worked five years as Aquatic Director at the Cuyahoga Falls YMCA, and 30 years as a part-time instructor at the University of Akron and Kent State University.
Mr. Welding is survived by Janet, his devoted wife of 52 years; son, James Welding (Lisa) of Munroe Falls; daughter, Jill Welding of Stow; his sister, Linda Wright (Bob) of Cincinnati; and many nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, no services will be held, and cremation has taken place.
In lieu of memorials or flowers, the family asks that you keep your family, and friends close in all the days to come. Condolences and memories may be shared and will be appreciated by the family.
