Tracey Jo Aitken, 63, of McPherson, KS, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Nebraska Medicine, Omaha, NE.
Tracey was born in Manhattan, KS on August 7, 1960, the daughter of Bobby Lee and Sandra Sue (West) Gibson.
Tracey attended Lyons grade school and graduated from McPherson High School. She then attended Brown Mackie Business School in Salina, KS where she received her Associates Degree.
Through the years Tracey worked for NCRA in the purchasing department.
Tracey enjoyed cooking, reading, loved taking care of other people, picking out flowers, and watching baseball. She loved watching her children and grandchildren in their sporting events and grandchildren in their rodeo events. Tracey enjoyed her walks with Larry, relaxing on the patio with her family and visiting with close friends.
Tracey was united in marriage to Larry Aitken on June 12, 1982 in McPherson, KS. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson. They were blessed with the birth of two children, Sarah and Luke.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; father, Bobby Gibson of Moundridge, KS; children, Sarah Henry of Canton, KS and Luke Aitken of Shawnee, KS; five grandchildren, Silas (Dylan) Stewart, Asa Courtney, Wyatt, Levi and Jovey Henry; brothers, Rob (Lori) Gibson of Statesboro, GA and Brian (Jill) Gibson of Owasso, OK.
Tracey was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Gibson and son-in-law, Barry Henry.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Glidden-Ediger -Wiggins Funeral Home in McPherson.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Canton, KS with Troy Slater officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tracey Aitken Memorial Fund and they can be sent to Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid St., McPherson, KS. 67460.
