Tyler Gene Thompson, 29, of Windsor Locks, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Born in Hartford, CT, on February 22, 1994, he was the beloved son of Maryann (St. Louis) Thompson Shiveley and the late Larry Gene Thompson. Tyler was nomadic growing up but still had great family ties and community.
Tyler was the proud owner and operator of St. Pete's Pedicab and After Party Pedicab, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to serving his clients. His passion for providing exceptional service reflected his commitment to making a positive impact on those around him.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Tyler had a profound love for animals, finding joy in their company. He was an avid guitar player and music enthusiast, his favorite bands being Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Grateful Dead. Tyler's adventurous spirit led him to explore the country in his RV, creating cherished memories along the way.
Above all, Tyler treasured his family, considering them the center of his universe. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Maryann Shiveley, and her husband Brian of Windsor Locks. Tyler leaves behind four siblings, Joshua, Nathan, Justin, and Rebecca Thompson, as well as his step-brother Seth Shiveley. He is also survived by his grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives were touched by his warmth and kindness.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, January 20, from 12-2 pm at Windsor Locks Funeral Home. A celebration of Tyler's life will follow at 2 pm. The family will hold a private burial at a later date.
