With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tyler Aaron Timmons, age 45, of Lamar, Missouri. Tyler left this world too soon on February 22, 2025, at his home, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love.

Born on May 25, 1979, in Nevada, Missouri, to Timothy Albert Timmons and Kay Lynn (Phipps) Timmons, Tyler grew up in Lamar, where he formed lifelong friendships and a deep connection to his hometown. He graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1997, a proud Lamar Tiger through and through. On June 30, 2007, he married the love of his life, Kimberly Anne Widmayer, at Oakton Church, beginning a beautiful journey of love, laughter, and family.

A self-employed construction handyman, Tyler was known for his huge heart and unwavering generosity. There was never a time he wouldn't’t lend a helping hand—whether to family, friends, or even a stranger in need. Tyler was a member of Oakton Church, where his faith and community spirit shone through in all he did. His kindness and selflessness left an unforgettable impact on everyone he met.

Tyler's greatest passion was sports—all sports. He didn't just watch them; he lived and breathed them. Whether competing, coaching, or cheering from the stands, he put his heart into every game. His greatest joy came from coaching and watching his daughter, Zoey, play. He took immense pride in mentoring the youth of Lamar, pouring his time and energy into shaping young athletes with the same passion and dedication he carried throughout his life. He was their biggest cheerleader, their coach, and their unwavering supporter. His love for his Lamar Tigers, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the K.C. Chiefs ran deep, and his enthusiasm for the game was infectious.

Tyler’s passing leaves a deep void in the lives of those who loved him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kim Timmons; his precious daughter, Zoey Timmons, whom he adored beyond measure; his devoted mother, Kay Timmons; his brothers, Terin (Autumn) Timmons and Troy Timmons (fiance Coty Jones); and several cherished nieces, nephews, family members, and countless friends who will miss him more than words can express.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tim Timmons; his grandparents, Dale and Allene Phipps and Elmer "Duffy" and Francis "Billie" Timmons; his uncle, Stan Timmons; his uncle, Jeff Phipps; and his aunt and uncle, Jan and Jack Luce. Though his loss is immeasurable, we find comfort knowing he is reunited with those he loved and missed.

A funeral service to honor Tyler’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Oakton Church, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar, MO.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested and should be made payable to Daniel Funeral Home (which will then be distributed between the girls basketball, girls softball, and girls cross country teams)

Tyler’s love, laughter, and unwavering support for others will never be forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, his friends, the athletes he mentored, and the community he loved so dearly.
