Victoria "Vicki" Lynn (Vidor) Olson, of Braham, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. She was 68 years old.
Vicki was born on November 24, 1955, in Cook, Minnesota to parents Mark and Janice (LeTourneau) Vidor. Vicki grew up in Braham where she attended Braham Schools, graduating in 1974. After high school, she worked at the Braham Bank as a teller. She began dating Dennis Olson and they were united in marriage on September 25, 1976, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cambridge. They were blessed with two daughters, Kelli and Katie. They made their home in the Braham area and in 1986 they moved to the Olson family homestead, which has remained in the Olson family since 1876.
In 1987, Vicki and Dennis purchased the Welding shop in Braham where Vicki managed the books, picked up supplies and parts and kept the local farmers in line. In 1992, Vicki began her 28-year career as a Bus Driver for the Braham Bus Company. She especially loved driving the softball and wrestling teams to their games as well as many of the school field trips. She retired in 2020.
Vicki and Denny enjoyed trips to Mille Lacs ice fishing and vacations with family and friends. She especially enjoyed camping and trips to Lake Vermillion, Two Harbors, Barnum and Nemadji. But being at home on her porch, surrounded by her beautiful yard and the stillness of the pond, gathered around a fire with family and friends was her favorite campground of all. She enjoyed watching the birds under the cedar tree, reading, shopping, and spending time with Denny. Her unfailing love for children and babies was evident because "Auntie Vicki" or "Auntie Num-a-Num" always had treats in her purse for the kids.
Vicki was a founding member of the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic church in Braham. Over the years she was a faithful and active member, serving with the women's group, the cemetery planning committee, and many other ministries throughout the church. Her kindness, generosity, and beautiful spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Robert Olson, sister-in-law Konnie Olson and nephew-in-law BR O'Halloran.
She is survived by her husband Dennis; daughters Kelli and Katie; brothers, Mitch (Gini) Vidor, Luke (Robyn) Vidor, and Tim (Heidi) Vidor; brother-in-law Duane (Chris) Olson; Aunts and Uncles, Rochelle LeTourneau (Mark Ladwig), Roger (Evelyn) LeTourneau, Mildred Merritt, Mary Vidor, and Stefanie Porter; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr Peltier, Dr Gorse, and Allina Health Hospice for providing Vicki with excellent care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Braham.
