I was very sorry to hear of Vic's passing, and send my condolences to his family and many friends.

I owe my career to Vic Peischl. He hired me to direct the LSS adoption program in 1981, after setbacks it had experienced, and was 100% committed to better serving Western PA adoptive families. I had held positions in foster care and adoption in Ohio; this was my first program management position. Vic believed in me, giving an "untested" 30 year old the challenge of rebuilding the program. I'm proud to say it grew and stabilized, with Vic's unwavering support. I then returned to OH to direct a new intercountry adoption agency, working in this field for over 25 years thanks to the opportunity I was given at LSS.

Vic was a supportive and amazing mentor, and we stayed in contact for many years after my time with LSS. He gave me and many others every opportunity to succeed. I'll always remember Vic with great respect and fondness.
