Dr. Vijay Singh entered peace on July 10, 2024, at his home in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Dr. Singh was a well-known and highly respected physician of our community for more than 20 years. To know Vijay was to love him, his generous soul, kind heart, and lighthearted manner warmed any room.
Dr. Singh studied at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and ETSU. He was a certified medical doctor and civil surgeon at the Department of Homeland Security. He was the founder and owner of Imperial Family Medicine for 14 years after serving as an emergency room physician for the Wellmont Hospital System.
He was very active in medical and community affairs. He was an active and contributing
member of RIACC-Tricities Temple.
Dr. Singh prided himself on providing simple, sincere medicine to all his patients. His
great love of music was apparent to all who knew him. Vijay leaves behind a host of
loved ones, friends, and family. He will be greatly missed by all and will be remembered
as a friend of those who needed friends, a loving father and husband, and a devoted family man.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 5pm until 7pm at Tabernacle of Praise in Kingsport. A celebration of life will follow with Deidri Fox, Brother Josh Steadman, and Brother Alex Amos officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Deidri Fox, Dr. Meenu Singh, Heather Steadman, Jordan Marshall, and Linda Turner.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport is serving the Singh family.

This man was a true and honest man. Not just as a Dr but as a friend. Dr V was so in tune with the human race that he would do anything for anyone. Dr V once told me (as an EMT) YOU have to have an outlet for YOUR pain, I will always be here if you need to talk, cry, laugh or just sit quietly. That is a good man ! I know he had some personal struggles lately, but my admiration will never waiver for him. Your stethoscope will no longer listen to lungs, hearts, problems or praises but you will never be forgotten sir. God speed .

I'm a former patient of Dr. Singhs andI just found out about his passing. I'm heartbroken and especially for his family and his employees. He was one of the only doctors that I've ever had that actually cared. I was only a former patient due to insurance changes or I would've still been his patient. I'm so sorry for your loss. The world has lost a truly great man .

I can not wrap my head around this at all. We just saw him and he was crying in the office for a young lady up front and I felt his heart hurting. I just can't get it in my brain tho. He was a good man. Me and my husband both liked him very much. A good Dr and a caring man. Rip Dr singh

Dr Singh was my doctor for 12 years. He was also my husband's Dr. before he passed away last year. My husband was not the easiest patient to care for & Dr. Singh was really a God send for him. They would exchange a few words with both of them making their voices heard & feelings about whatever the issue was at that visit. Dr. Singh would always leave with a handshake & a smile on his face and my husband as well. It's extremely difficult to find a doctor who will let the patient express their point of view without them getting kicked out of the office. I continued to stay with doc & he was genuinely concerned & caring for my well being after my husband passed away. He will be missed. My heart & prayers for his family, friends, & his office staff.

He was a good man. He cared. That´s really hard to find these days. He had goals, good goals he set for himself and gave great
advisement to others. It is a true loss to this community.

Dr. Singh was my first (and only) doctor when I moved to Kingsport 4 years ago. I have never met a more kind, understanding, knowledgeable, and caring doctor like he was. He didn't rush you out the door to see the next person. To him you were a human being with legitimate concerns. His loss will definitely impact so many lives just as his life did. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends as he will be greatly missed!!!

Dr. Singh was the most compassionate person I´ve ever met. When I lost my heart dog, more like a daughter to me, he understood why I was having trouble coping as he had experienced it. We cried together and he tried to help me through my grief. He will be missed as a doctor and a friend. Rest in peace doc.
