VINCENT FRANCO, 80, beloved husband of Karen Ginan Franco, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 at home with his loving wife by his side.
Born in Glen Cove, New York, Vincent was the son of the late Vincent Franco and Melina Sbaglia. He grew up on Long Island and furthered his education at Hofstra University. Vincent enjoyed a distinguished career in retail, where he held various leadership roles, including vice president of Macy's Herald Square in Manhattan and Burdines in Pembroke Pines, Florida. His career took him to San Francisco as vice president of Mervyns, and later to Delray Beach, Florida with Office Depot, Kmart in Troy, Michigan, and ultimately concluding with Wilton Industries in Naperville, Illinois.
An enthusiastic golfer, Vincent retired to Aiken, South Carolina, 15 years ago, where he embraced the local community. He had a passion for baseball and was an avid card collector, hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life.
Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Karen; two sons, Robert Vincent Franco (Rachel), Canton, MI, James Raymond Franco, Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren, Melina, Rocco and Mariano Franco; two sisters, Mary Josephine Franco, Norwalk, CT, Rose Beek (Perry), Wake Forest, NC; two brothers-in-law, Donald Ginan, West Islip, NY, Kenneth Ginan, Bradenton, FL; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Franco, Lindenhurst. NY, Janice Bowers, Port Richie, FL and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Vincent was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Raymond Franco.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon, March 7th from 4 until 6 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. No service is planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association (heart.org).
