Vincent Paul Larobina, a lifelong Stamford resident and entrepreneur, passed away on Wednesday, May 28th,2025. Vincent was born on June 22, 1952, the son of Salvatore Larobina and Pauline Stramandinoli Larobina. He was educated in Stamford Public schools and graduated from Stamford High School in 1970 where he played varsity basketball. He attended Cornell University on an academic scholarship and graduated cum laude in 1973.
He owned and operated a fitness center in Westport, CT. One of the first to feature extensive Nautilus equipment. Vincent also worked in public relations at Norden Systems in Norwalk, CT. He would frequently be seen on his daily run through the streets of Stamford while dribbling a basketball, or taking in some sun at Stamford's West Beach on summer days. He was a lifelong Yankees fan and followed college basketball closely. He was a Dallas Cowboy football fan in a large family of rabid NY Giants fans.
Quick witted, he could debate any subject knowledgeably and concisely.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Frank Pasquale Larobina and brother-in-law Antonio Cardillo.
He is survived by his sister, Cathy Cardillo, his nieces Angela Cardillo-Thagouras (Peter) and Marianne Cardillo Quinones (Matthew), and four grand nephews and one grand niece.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart RC Church, Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 10:30 am.
Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Stamford, CT. There will be no calling hours.
