Vincent "Vinny" Lupinacci, of Mahopac, NY passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the age of 83. He was born in Bronx, NY on February 21, 1940, the son of Ernest and Yolanda "Dolly" (Pitale) Lupinacci.
Moving from the Bronx to Somers, NY in the early 1950's, he graduated from Somers High School in 1957 and moved to Mahopac in 1962.
Vinny first retired from Capitol Highway in Baldwin Place, NY where he was a salesman. After, he worked at Dill's Best part-time in customer service for a number of years. He loved horses and enjoyed going to Saratoga Springs for the annual horse races. Vinny was a sports enthusiast, rooting for any New York team, be it baseball, football, you name it, he always had some sporting event on his TV at home. In his youth, he was an accomplished baseball player, a game he loved.
On June 23, 1962 he married Ellen Barrett at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac. Ellen passed away on January 15, 2010. He is survived by his sons, Ernest (Liz) of Cross River, NY, Eric (Dawn) of Carmel and John (Ilene) of Mt. Kisco, NY and his six beloved grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Jake, Lauren, Emily and Sara.
Vinny was kind and reliable. The simple things in life made him happy and he was there for those he loved, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching their activities, from dance to lacrosse, and loved to hear about their adventures, always cheering them on.
Vinny loved being around town - he could always be spotted at the local post office, library or Mario's Ristorante & Pizzeria. He was a friendly man, always the first to offer a wave, a smile and a kind word.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, February 9 from 3-7 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will take place on Saturday at 10 am at Ballard-Barrett Cemetery in Mahopac Falls.
