Vinton Connor Hembree, 61, of 2714 LeConte Road, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Anderson, SC, he was a graduate of McDuffie High School where he was a school bus driver, student body president, and attended Boys State. Vint was a graduate of Greenville Tech. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the National Guard with 21 years of service. He was an estimator with Champion Tooling. Vint was a member of Concord Baptist Church and attended New Life Fellowship.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Tammy Hembree; three daughters, Ashley Hembree Clark (Corey), Lauren Hembree Faircloth (Brandon), and Leslie Hembree Barrett (Jeremy); and eight grandchildren, Karson Faircloth, Bryce Faircloth, Brooks Barrett, Hembree Clark, London Barrett, Lainey Faircloth, Connor Clark, and Levi Faircloth.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Ann Connor Patterson and his sister, Janelle Barbara Hembree.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 19, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. David Walters. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial, with military honors, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, August 29, at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family is at the residence.

Vint had such a positive influence on many people in his life including me. He was like a big brother that people could look up to for advice and was there to help in a pinch if ever needed. Vint's family and friends will miss his presence dearly, but remember him fondly for many years to come for he definitely left an indelible impression on us all. Vint's service and love towards his family, friends, and this nation will always be greatly appreciated.
