W. L. KIRK
Henderson, TN: W. L. Kirk, age 89, passed away August 24, 2025, at his home.
He was born August 15, 1936, at Finger and grew up in McNairy County, the son of the late Arnold and Addie Adeline Miller Kirk. He went to school in McNairy County. He married Larcie Stewart on April 11, 1959, they lived in Memphis for a few years and worked at C.F. Works & Son. They moved to Henderson and made their home near West Chester for fifty-five years. He worked at Quality Manufacturing, Fiberglass, Weber Costello, and worked as assistant manager at Henderson Plaza until he retired.
He loved family first and foremost, deer hunting, fishing and raising his famous tomatoes. He enjoyed watching Tennessee Crossroads and visiting places they filmed. He loved Bluegrass Music.
He was a member of The Springs United Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Kirk is survived by two sons, James Tedford (Pam) of Finger and Lenzie Kirk (Denise) of Jacks Creek; three daughters, Judy Stavely (Daryl) of Henderson, Lisa Bradley (Allen) of Selmer and Vanessa Taylor (Lonzo) of Finger; twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Larcie Lee Stewart Kirk (May 19, 2020), a brother, James Kirk and four sisters, Sarah Lambert, Bertha Garner, Evelyn McDaniel and Peggy Edwards.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 30th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Jeff Young, Ken Frye, Wayne Scott and four family members officiating. Burial to follow at Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at East Main 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday.
