Wallace (Wally) Blystone, a long-time resident of Avondale, LA., went home to his Heavenly Father, on October 1, 2025 at the age of 96, surrounded by his loving family. Wally was a Marine and served WWII. He received 2 sharpshooter medals.
Wally is survived by his daughters: Peggy Ann Perry Carriere, Tina Marie Blystone Mahl (Donald), Evelyn Dianne Blystone Scully (Bruce), and sons Michael Wallace Blystone (Debbie), Kelly William Blystone (Tiffany), Tony Wayne Blystone (Penny). And Grandchildren: Maureen E. Perry Granger (Asa), Bryan K. Carriere (Donna), Tia M. Mahl (Kevin), Tanya L. Mahl (Danny), Albrush (AJ) J. Scully, Jr. (Brandie), Michael P. Perry (Jenn), Meghan C. Perry Granger (Pete), Tony W. Blystone (Melissa), Nicholas D. Blystone (Tia). Also Great-Grandchildren: Trenton Bourgeois, Jaymiee Allemand, Colby McCoslin, Chloe Braud, Caydin Kline, Everleigh and Declan Scully, Ashtyn Blystone, Krystal and Harley Blystone, Cara and Regan Marquez, Adeline Granger, Penelope Acevedo, Kaylee, Alexis and Emily Perry. And niece Dawn Dubuisson and nephew, Edward (Sonny) Martin, III. Wally will be mourned by his devoted pet Molly. Wally was preceded in death by his loving Parents: Florence Daugherty Blystone and William Earl Blystone., Siblings Ellsie, Arthur Leroy (Buddy), Betty, Wanda Maxine, William (Billy), Gloria Dawn, Donna Irene, Sandra Pauline, Wayne Eugene, His loving wife Evelyn Blystone, His son Mack E. Perry, Jr., and Granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Scully, and Grandson David Carlin Bourgeois, III. He attended First Baptist Church in Avondale for several years. He was in the American Legion, He loved to hang out with his family playing volleyball, horseshoes, cornhole. He loved to bowl, color, put puzzles together, race cars, watch football and boxing. At 96 he still would punch on his punching bag.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Brittany B in the NCU at West Jefferson Medical Center, along with the staff. Also, to Passages Hospice, for the exceptional care, compassion and support during Wallace's final days. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at First Baptist Church of Avondale, 360 South Jamie Blvd., Avondale, Louisiana on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 9AM until 11AM. Funeral Service will be held at the church on Wednesday at 11AM. Interment will follow in Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
