Walter M. Brownson, 91, passed away July 16th, 2022. He was born October 23rd, 1930, to Ruth and Frank Brownson. He was a lifelong resident of Ashland County, Ohio.
He graduated from Ashland High School, Ashland College (Bachelor's) and Kent State University (Master's). He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong farmer and a steward of the land. He also taught science at Mapleton High School and sang in the choir at Savannah Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife Edith (Libby) I. (Rollin) Brownson to whom he was married on August 16th, 1953. They have four children, all surviving: Tim Brownson of Cinnamon Lake, Ohio; Kate (Dave) Peresie of Mansfield, Ohio; Cindy (Tim) Bruce of Mountlake Terrace, Washington; and Julie (Vince) Lopez of Webster, New York. They have fourteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth Brownson, and his siblings, Miriam Brownson, Bob Brownson, Jim Brownson, Mary Lou Spicer, and Betty Smith.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Savannah United Methodist Church. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. The Ashland Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the church following the funeral service. A private family committal services will be held in the Nashville Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Savannah United Methodist Church, 10 W. Main St. Savannah, Ohio 44874.

So sorry to hear of Walter's passing; such a good man. I always loved the dinner meals at Bob Evans with Walter and Edith. He will be missed.

Love you great grandpa miss u! I remember coming to see you and going to see the cows and walking the ponds with you and great grandma fly high with the angles & watch over all of us till we see you again!

We are so sorry to hear about Walter passing. We wish we were able to attend the services but cannot due to Covid. We will always love and remember Walter and are grateful for the relationship we shared with him and Edith.
