Wanda Mae Cannon, age 92 was born in Tulsa Oklahoma to the late parents of Fred and Erma Leist. She and her husband Dick left Tulsa and became residents of Titusville, Florida in 1958.
Wanda began her working career in the bowling industry at River Lanes Bowling Alley in 1960. She first started out as a bowling instructor, progressing her career in Human Resources as a Desk Manager and later in her career assumed the responsibility of Finance Manager. She was well known and liked by the community and bowling enthusiasts for her jubilant personality and human resource skills, always having a smile on her face and an encouraging word for the bowlers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Cannon, in 2017. She and Dick were married for 65 years prior to his death. She is survived her daughter, Janet Kaye Barrowman (Stephen) and her two sons Curtis Alan Cannon and Kevin Scott Cannon (Trina). Also surviving are four grandchildren Stephanie Felker, Krista Miller (Kyle), Haley Gilmore (Ryker) and Ryan Cannon. She was also blessed with six great grandchildren, Trey, Allie, Kylee, Stephen, Grayson and Avery. Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a special friend to those she met.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 U.S. Highway 1, North Mims Florida 32754. In lieu of flowers, donations may be designated in her honor to St. Francis Reflections at 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville Florida 32780. ReflectionsLSC.org.
