Wanda Johnson was born on November 2, 1964 at Fargo, North Dakota, the daughter of Wayne and Mary Johnson. Her family lived in Washington, North Dakota and Nebraska before settling in Sioux Falls in 1980. Wanda graduated from Washington High School.
Wanda married Jay Jacobs on July 2, 1987 in Fargo. They lived in Sioux Falls and Wanda worked as a checker/cashier at Hy-Vee and Sunshine for several years until the effects of Muscular Dystrophy prevented her from working.
Wanda enjoyed going dancing, watching her nieces and nephews in their school and sports activities, going to drive-in movies, attending local racetracks and going camping at state parks. She loved all animals. Wanda collected Coca Cola products and Precious Moments figurines. She also enjoyed her trip to Norfolk, Virginia for Jay’s Navy reunion.
Wanda was 60 years old when she passed away on April 25, 2025 at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls.
Grateful for having shared in her life is her mother, Mary; husband, Jay; two siblings, Wayne Johnson and Christy Person; nieces and nephews, Nichole Herman, Shelby Haber, Amanda Kriens, Meshaya Tripp, Chase Schraeder, Cody Jensen and Mike Person; great nieces and great nephews, Alivyah Schraeder, Maggie Herman, Nora Herman, Brynlee Kriens, Ella Kriens, Twila Tripp, Kade Kriens, Archer Tripp and Nolan Milstead. Wanda is preceded in death by her father.
