Wanda Johnson Obituary
Mrs. Johnson, 73, of Chopin, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, Natchitoches, LA.
She was a loving sister, aunt, and a cherished penpal to many. Saturday nights were reserved for the movie theatre, a tradition she rarely missed. She could swim like a fish and generously shared that gift, teaching countless children in the community how to swim and how to hold their breath underwater. A huge Star Trek fan, she also loved Donnie Osmond and never missed Saturday Night Live, faithfully recording episodes on her VHS tapes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Wanda Johnson.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include two brothers, John "J.D." Johnson and Alvie Dewain Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A time of visitation will be held at Bay Springs Baptist Church, Chopin, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. and will remain open until time of service on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Tim Basco, Veronica Johnson, Katherine LeBlanc, Sonja DuBois, Terry Johnson, and Brooklyn LeBlanc.
