Ward "Sam" Mowery, Jr., age 64, of Indianapolis, was surrounded by family and friends when he passed away on June 16, 2025, at Brook View Memory Care in Indianapolis after a well fought fight. Sam grew up in Wanamaker, Indiana. He was a jack of all trades and never knew a stranger. He lived in, and loved his small town. Known for his large stature and giant sense of humor, he enjoyed frequent visits around the people he grew up with, and any small local establishments just to talk.
He is survived by his true pride and joy, his Grandchildren; Ayden Brown, Colven Brown, Elaina Mowery, Easton Mowery, Emmett Mowery and Callum Mowery, who was born hours before his Grandfather's passing.
Sam is also survived by his siblings Steve, Connie, and Cynthia Mowery, as well as leaving two children, Anthony Mowery and Ashlee Brown.
A celebration of life will be held on June 28, 2025, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. His remains will then be placed to rest next to his Mother and Father, Ward and Esther Mowery, at Washington Park East Cemetery.
