Warren Irwin Penix, "Skip" to his friends and family, is now at peace with his wife, Annetta. Skip, 76, passed away on September 20, 2022. Skip was born in Carson City, Michigan on June 19, 1946 to Robert and Luludail (Skinner) Penix. He and Annetta (Smith) Barrett were married April 30, 1976 and enjoyed 42 years of marriage until Annetta passed in 2018. He was a devoted family man and a dedicated friend, and made himself available with a willing heart to help in many different situations. Skip was a skillful hobbyist with leatherworking and woodworking and enjoyed a good baseball game. He loved to go to the Friday Night Fish Fry Events at the local Eagles and trips to Turkeyville for meals, and for shopping and looking at the Flea Market, but not necessarily buying. Of all things he liked to shop for.bungee cords. Music jam sessions could be heard by the neighbors from their front porch, and he loved to go dancing with Annetta. Skip led a farming life with crops, pigs, dairy cattle for quite some time in the Nashville area, and was employed with Bradford White after giving the farm up. The couple moved to Thornapple Lake, and then into Charlotte. Skip knew how to get every smidge of value of his personal items using them until they were used up. He was handy with projects for their home including siding, porch and cupboards. In his spare time, you could find him looking at Facebook and all the modern farm technology videos he could find.
Skip is survived by his son, Robert Penix; daughters, Tracey Barnes, Marcey Barrett and bonus daughter, Shannon Werner; grandchildren, Mason Penix, Amanda Gulick, Kasandra Penix, Kailie (Jason) Dipp, Lindsey Lashley, Joanna (Chris) Eckhoff, Tyler Bushey; great-grandchildren, Ford Gulick, Finley Gulick, Ava Dipp, Crystal Eckhoff, Ceanna Eckhoff, Chase Eckhoff and Alice Bushey; sister, Dorinda Sommers; sisters-in-law, Kay (Doug) Babcock, Kathy (Duane) Thompson; brother-in-law, Joe (Margie) Smith;
He was predeceased by his wife, Annetta and his parents.
