Wayne Doty

Wayne Doty, age 92, of Sudan, Texas, died Tuesday, December 10, 2024 in Amherst, Texas. He was born February 11, 1932 in Sudan to Homer and Eva Joe (Nettles) Doty. He married Billye Frances Wells in Circleback, Texas on December 25, 1951
Wayne enjoyed farming and being a farmer for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sudan. He is preceded in death by his wife, Billye; his parents; a daughter-in-law, Sheila Doty; a granddaughter, Amanda Mapp, a great-granddaughter, Courtlynn Doty; two sons-in-law, Billy Gore and Larry Schmitt; three brothers, J.C. Doty, Kelton Doty and Tokie Doty; and two sisters, Doris Jean Renfro and Quida Carruth.
Wayne is survived by his two sons, David Doty of Littlefield, Texas and Donald Doty of Lubbock, Texas; his two daughters, Karen Gore of Sudan, Texas and Jo Gaye Schmitt of Hobbs, New Mexico; his five grandchildren, Stephanie Gore, Dennis Gore, Daniel Doty, Crystal Munoz and Amy Demory; and his seventeen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
