Wesley Robert Beitler (known to everyone as Wes) passed away suddenly on January 19, 2025, due to a tragic car accident in Glenview, IL. He was born on January 30, 2002, in Winfield, IL. Wes was a joy to his family and to so many others who knew him throughout his 22 years of life.
Wesley is survived by his parents, Nathan and Sue Beitler, his siblings, Kayla Nicole and Kyle Lucas, his grandparents, Sharon Beitler and Robert and Karen Rummel. Other family members include his uncles and aunts Jeff and Joy Kramer, Sara Beitler, Robert Rummel, Doug and Deana Rummel, and Brian Rummel. His cousins include Cole, Evan, Julia, Claire, Brooke, Cody, Karlie, Nina and Harrison. Wes was loved by his family and was a central figure in family gatherings, bringing laughter and lightheartedness to the room.
From a young age, Wes was full of energy and never wanted to sit still. He was always a very active child and involved in sports and play activities. Wes loved to play roughhouse with his dad, build with LEGO blocks, swim in the pool, play with his action figures, and run around outdoors with neighborhood friends. Wes HATED nap time, so it was always a challenge to tire him out enough that he would sleep. When Wes got into trouble or had a bad attitude, his punishment often included running laps around the block. (It's easy to say that this was where his running career began!) Wes always wanted to be older, bigger, stronger, smarter, and faster than he was, and frequently made statements that began with the words "When I'm older, I'm gonna..."
Wes was quick to make acquaintances and he especially made efforts to surround himself with people that he thought would grow him in some way. Likewise, he was continually pushing the people around him to excel. Wes was always looking for the next adventure and for people that were willing to adventure with him. He spent many middle school and high school years ranging far and wide on his bicycle and in his car to find things and places to explore. (Some of these MAY have involved climbing fences or hiding.) Wes was always pretty fearless, except when it came to bugs!
An avid runner, Wes competed in track and cross country, setting school records in middle school and high school and qualifying for state competitions. Wes was always determined to better himself, and lived by the motto "Training beats talent, when talent doesn't train." He always pushed his teammates to train harder, eat healthier, and get plenty of rest. His passion for running carried him to Indiana State, where he continued to compete before completing his academic journey at the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Business degree.
Wesley excelled at setting goals and working hard to meet them. While in college he worked two jobs to help pay his way through school, but still found time to exercise regularly, attend and serve at his church, and go on hiking or biking trips or to music festivals with friends.
Professionally, Wes was just beginning his career as a Financial Planner at Thrivent Financial in Geneva, IL. He was well-liked by his colleagues who admired him for his sharp intellect, his optimism and his passion for life. He had an innate ability to connect with clients and co-workers alike.
Wes enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, and he was profoundly devoted to his faith in God. He was always involved with his home church and the churches he attended in his college years. Most recently, he had been attending Compass Church in Plainfield, IL.
One of Wes's long-time friends, Bryce Reinhard, also tragically passed away in the same accident. Wes shared many fun memories and adventures with Bryce and his twin brother Alex. Wesley and the twins got into all sorts of fun and mischief over the years.
Wesley's sudden departure leaves a hole in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the pursuit of life with fervor and faith. We hold tight to the memories of his smile, his laugh, his adventurous spirit, his passion for life, and his love of and devotion to his family. Someday we will be reunited with Wesley in heaven, but until that time, we will miss him dearly.
Visitation for Wes will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Harvest New Beginnings Church 5315 Douglas Road,
Oswego, IL. 60543 Funeral Service will begin Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Cemetery services will be private.
