Wilfred "Bill" Gottfried Nett, 92, passed away peacefully at home on September 1, 2023. He was born in Marytown, WI on February 16, 1931, son of the late John and Susan (Korb) Nett.
Bill graduated from New Holstein High School in 1950. He attended Fond du Lac Business School. He enlisted in the Air Force and spent four years in Germany. Upon returning, he married Anna Mae Guelig on April 20, 1955. They had 65 years together.
They were blessed with five children: Mary Brown, Patricia Stockel (deceased), John (Sue Wagner) Nett, Julie (Bruce) Gillen and Joseph (deceased). In 1958 they bought a home in Fond du Lac. Never leaving the children behind, Bill and Ann traveled, summer-cottaged and enjoyed water boat sports.
Bill worked at Rueping Leather Company for 30 years and W.B. Place Leather Company for 10 years, retiring in 1996 after which he enjoyed odd jobs. Bill enjoyed visits from his unofficial therapy dogs, Dorthy and Patience.
Bill liked riding his bike, gardening, boating and smoking his pipe. He was a member of the Eagles Club and the Knights of Columbus.
Bill is survived by three children, Mary, John and Julie and their spouses, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Mary Guelig.
He was preceded by his wife, Anna, their children, Patricia and Joseph, brothers Alfred (Estella Schneider) Nett and Elmer (Esther Wagner) Nett, Anna's parents, Oscar and Marie (Nett) Guelig, and brothers-in-law Oscar, Jr. (Rosalyn Sabel) Guelig and Francis Guelig.
Private family services are scheduled.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to SSM/Agnesian Hospice Hope for their care, concern and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to SSM/Agnesian Hospice Hope.
