William (Bill) Beem, 64, finished his fight with cancer like a true warrior on Wednesday, April 9th surrounded by his loved ones.
Bill was born August 4, 1960 in Webster City, IA to Anna Rowe and Robert Beem, where he was the oldest of five siblings. He spent most of his early life living in the Webster City/Duncombe area where he was a volunteer firefighter and a dedicated member of the Duncombe community. He often gave his time to making events and activities in the town successful, including captaining a champion traveling tug-of-war team. During his time in Duncombe, he enjoyed building and competing in demolition derbies, playing pool, bowling, hunting, and running his own construction business.
Bill moved to the Tiffin/Oxford area in the mid 90s. He continued to enjoy his favorite activities and finding new ones he excelled at along the way. In 2008 he married Lou Winter in Tiffin, IA where they resided for many years. They both enjoyed playing bags, the outdoors, and just being with friends and family. One of the things Bill enjoyed most were his two grandsons who called him "Papa".
Bill was amazing at nearly everything he tried to do, often leaving people in awe. He could sink four bags in a row, bowl a strike, run the pool table, sing a Meatloaf song, call a catfish with a blade of grass, and build a deck that would last a lifetime. Perhaps his greatest skill though was being a dad.
Bill survived many things before ending his journey. His resilience and inner strength were unmatched.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimbery Fuller (Cody Brecht), two grandsons, Hunter Pierce and Mack Pierce, his step father, Larry Rowe, his siblings, John (Kari), Teresa, Jeff (Sherry),Brian (Angie) Beem, and his brother-in-law, John Winter. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lou, his mom, Anna Rowe, and his dad, Robert Beem.
The family would like to say a very special thanks to the wonderful staff of the Solon Nursing Home for the incredible care they gave him his last few years of life.
Visitation for Bill will be Sunday, April 13th from 3-5 pm at Lensing Funeral Home in Iowa Ctiy. All are welcome.
