William Cell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cavanagh Family Funeral Homes, Inc. & Private Crematory - Norwood on Mar. 8, 2025.
WILLIAM JAMES CELL
1930 - 2025
Bill passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, surrounded by his family, at the age of 94.
Bill was born in Hoboken, N.J. and grew up in the Bronx N.Y. in an orphanage and several different foster homes. As soon as he graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School at age 17, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and stayed in the service for 20 years.
On his return from Korea, he was stationed in Philadelphia where he met his beloved Teresa. They were married over 70 years.
Sadly, he was predeceased by 3 daughters, Kim Cell, Gail Rissetto and Linda Coliukos Cell.
Left to grieve him is his loving wife, Teresa and his children, who gave him more joy than they ever knew, Diana Smith, Audrey (Joe dec) Epperson, Kathy (Jim)Bonner, Eric (Bell) Andrew (Sooka), Gary, Chris (Jenni), his son in law Chris Coliukos and 17 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
After retiring from the service, Bill received his college degree from the University of Maryland and worked for the Federal Government Defense Department in several supervisory positions.
Bill loved music, from classical to country. And how that man loved to dance! Nothing made him happier than waltzing to the melody of an Irish band.
Bill loved to drive and he and Teresa would take spur of the moment trips to where ever, they visited children in Florida, Arizona and California and enjoyed several cruises and a day at the races was always a pleasure.
When Bill left this world, he had more family than he ever dreamed of in his lonely childhood. There are grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews, in particular a nephew and two nieces just lately discovered, children of his long-lost deceased sister.
Our dear friends have been to too many funerals in the past few years, perhaps they would say an Ave for Bill in the comfort of their own homes.
Services will be for family.
In memory of Bill, hug the person next to you (hopefully they're family or at least someone you know).

Dear Teresa,
Michael and I are thinking of you at this difficult time. May God give you comfort to handle the hard days ahead. We always enjoyed having you and Bill over for BBQs, while we were living in PP. You were great neighbors. Take comfort in knowing he's dancing with his loved ones in Heaven, in the presence of Jesus.
