He was born in Milton on October 5, 1960, and was the son of the late Peter and V. Marie (Daley) Decker.
Bill was raised in Chelmsford MA and a graduate of Nashoba Valley Technical High School class of 79. He was employed in the petroleum industry for most of his life and could tell you directions anywhere simply using a gas station as a landmark. In his free time, you could find Bill enjoying time with his son and grandson fishing, bowling, or grabbing their Stellios weekend breakfasts. He was an avid loyal fan of his grandsons youth hockey team, never missing a game or practice, cheering on every player. No matter where he went, he was bound to find someone he knew just by striking up one of his many conversations with strangers who later became friends. There is nothing that Bill wouldnt do for those he loved, and he will forever be remembered for his caring nature and quirky laugh.
Bill leaves his son Jason Decker of Billerica MA; his grandson Tristan Decker and his mother Emily Valera of North Chelmsford MA; his siblings Tracey Garthe and her husband Kevin Garthe of Chelmsford MA, Susan Buck of Livermore CA, Peter Decker and his wife Linda Decker of Chelmsford MA, Michael Decker and his wife Nancy Decker of Apollo Beach FL, and Thomas Decker and his wife Trudy Decker of Sun City Center FL. Bill also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.
Sadly, he is predeceased by his brothers, Steven Decker formerly of Valrico FL, Kevin Decker formerly of Chelmsford, and brother-in-law Gregory Buck formerly of Livermore, CA.
A Celebration of Life will be held March 15, 2025 from 12pm 4pm at American Legion Post 313, 90 Groton Road, North Chelmsford MA 01863. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Bills life.
