He was born on March 13, 1960, in Concord, a son of the late Angelo and Phyllis (Poillucci) Lombardo and grew up in Littleton, graduating from Nashoba Valley Technical High School in 1979.
Shortly after his graduation, Richie started a long career as a tow truck driver for Halpin's Towing, then McGloughlin's both out of Littleton, He then towed for Sully's in Westford, Following CBK in Boxborough, Then finishing his towing career with Terranova Auto Body in Ayer. More recently Richie was working in Deven's at Quiet Logistics up until the time of his illness.
Richie enjoyed spending time outside hanging with family or going to a ball game. He enjoyed going to the beach, hanging in the back yard with his country music, he also looked forward to the tow shows every year. But most of all he loved being a papa.
He leaves his wife of 32 years, Amy J. (Shakarian) Lombardo of Ayer; two sons, Andrew C. Lombardo and his fiance, ReBecca and Matthew R. Lombardo, all of Ayer; three grandchildren, Sheamus Therrien, Lola Therrien and Gracelyn Therrien; three brothers, John Lombardo of Tennessee, Vincent Lombardo of Leominster and Dominic Lombardo of Townsend; four sisters, Susan Young of Rumney, NH, Phyllis White of Kissimmee, FL, Cheryl Campbell of Fitchburg and Francine Flynn of Townsend and numerous nieces and nephews along with many friends and family.
The family would like to thank all the staff that took care of Richie at Emerson Hospital from the team at Naka Infusion Center to the staff on wheeler 4 threw his final days.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 23, from 4 to 7 PM in the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd., Ayer. A celebration of Richie's life will be held at a day and time to be determined by the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wall of the Fallen, C/O the International Towing Museum, 3315 Broad St., Chattanooga, TN 37408
