William J. Diemond

William Diemond, 76, of Garden City, South Carolina died peacefully in his home on September 6, 2024. William, better known as Billy to his close friends and family, was born on June 28, 1948 to the late Clifford and Freida Diemond in Ithaca NY. After William graduated from Ithaca High School in 1966, he went on to work for Ithaca Gun Company as a gun smith and owned Diemond's Gun Repair. During his life, he enjoyed activities including baseball, bowling, hunting and fishing. He was active in his community as a member of the Sevens Volunteer Fire Company and was a member in the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his brother James (Diane) Diemond of Springfield, Pennsylvania as well as his nieces, Marcy (Nathaniel) Decker of Springfield, Pennsylvania and Danielle Waight of Ithaca, New York. He is also survived by four grand-nephews and one grand-niece. Per his wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. He will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery, in Interlaken New York during a private ceremony.
