William Kelly Grimsley

William Kelly Grimsley, age 79, of Bordentown, NJ passed on to eternal life and entered God's
glory while surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Known to his family, friends, and colleagues as Kelly, he was born in Memphis, TN. In his
younger years, Kelly's passion was tennis, and he eventually earned the credentials to the title
of tennis teaching pro in Long Island, NY. With a keen mind, he attended Stetson University an
Cornell University, originally to pursue a degree in Engineering. But after receiving a call to
ministry, Kelly went to the Colgate Rochester Theological Seminary, NY, where he earned his
Masters in Divinity Degree. Ordained in the American Baptist Churches, USA, he has resided in
various locations within the United States throughout his almost 50 years of ministry. A faithful
dedicated, and life-time American Baptist pastor, Kelly has pastored churches in Pittsburgh, PA;
Salem, MA; Elmhurst, NY; and White Plains, NY. He also served for a season on the executive
staff of the Missionaries and Ministers Benefit Board (MMBB) in New York City. Upon his
retirement, he offered himself selflessly to serve as interim pastor to three member
congregations of the American Baptist Churches of New Jersey - in Perth Amboy, Ridgewood
and Oaklyn. He and his wife moved to Bordentown, NJ seven years ago. Kelly is survived by his
beloved wife, Souci Familiaran-Grimsley; daughter, Tracy (Rob) Rader; grandchildren, Rebekah
and Jacob; step-children, Coral Hannah and Manuel Moley. He was predeceased by his sisters,
Gayle and Nellie. A humble, kind-hearted, and compassionate pastor, husband, father, and
grandfather, Kelly cherished most of all the time spent with family and friends, and will be
deeply missed by those who loved him.
A private family viewing will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2024, at the Huber-Moore
Funeral Home in Bordentown, NJ. A public memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday,
December 15, 2024, at the Chesterfield Baptist Church, located on 209 Matthews Lane,
Chesterfield, NJ 08515. Memorial contributions in Kelly's name may be made to the Moley &
Elsie Familiaran Memorial Fund. This fund was established by Souci's family in honor of her
parents' ministry, wholeheartedly supported by Kelly, and its proceeds go to help impoverished
pastors of the Convention of Philippine Baptist Churches diagnosed with catastrophic illnesses
