A Celebration of Life Service for William Scott "Billy" Hay, 44, of Jacksonville, will be at 1 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at West Point Baptist Church. Reverends Ronny Moore, Ken Phillips, and Jim Jones will officiate.
Billy fought a courageous battle with cancer for three years and entered Heaven's gates on June 25, 2024, at his home.
Billy was born in Gadsden and graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1998. He went on to graduate from Gadsden State Community College with a degree in Civil Engineering. Billy worked as a mechanic at the Anniston Army Depot for 18 years. He married his lovely wife, Kara, in 2011. Billy was a faithful man of God who loved his Lord and family and was a godly example to all who knew him. His children were his greatest blessing. He was a wonderful son, brother, and friend, always ready to lend a hand and help. Billy was a great mechanic and also enjoyed wood working. He could fix or build anything. Billy was ordained as a deacon at West Side Baptist Church where he was a member for many years. He was currently a member at West Point where he also had served as a deacon. Billy will be missed, but we rejoice that he is in the presence of his Heavenly Father.
Billy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy and Mary Edd Hay, Juanita Scott, and James Harold Scott; an uncle, Brice Hay; and his step sister, Leigh Anne Fowler.
Billy is survived by his wife, Kara Hay; daughter, Madison Hay; a son, William Hay; his mother, Judy Anderson and her husband, Ted; his father, Jimmy Hay; a brother, Andrew Hay, and his daughter, Lily; step brother, Jamie Anderson and his wife, Julie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or to West Point Baptist Church.
Online condolences may be made to the family at www.klbrownfuneralhome.com.
