William Louis Kubat, age 82, passed away on May 16, 2025 in St. Augustine, FL. He was born August 16, 1942 in Boundbrook, NJ, the son of William L. and Lillian (Hoppe) Kubat.
William (Bill) was a proud Army veteran (101st Airborne Division Paratrooper) who served his country with honor. He grew up in Little Ferry, NJ but the Jersey Shore is where he called home. He was a skilled man who worked as a mason building homes and a heavy equipment operator building golf courses. He had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures: a strong pour of Dewar's Scotch, a cigarette in hand, and a seat at the poker table. He enjoyed bowling, billiards and was an excellent dart player. He enjoyed and valued time with his family and friends. He was a man's man through and through-unfiltered, unflinching, and unforgettable.
William is survived by his children Michelle Gadoury, Kim Pagan (Angel), William Warbach (Janet) and Mia Martinez; grandchildren, Tiffany Rodriguez, Anthony Carter, Alex Davis, James (JW) Gannon, Noah Martinez, Alanna Warbach, Jocelyn Pagan, Michael Warbach, Mackenzie Gadoury, Atiana Pagan, Olivia Warbach, and Angel Pagan III ; great grandchildren Arianna Laverty, Eliana Rodriguez and River Struble. He is also survived by his siblings Warren Kubat, Robert Hoppe and their respective families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his adopted parents Mary (Hoppe) & Carl Uhlemann and the love of his life, his loving wife, June Kubat.
Family and friends will gather from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7th at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. Reception will follow.
