The family of William Edward Mattison, 74, of St.Albans, announces that he passed away peacefully June 18, 2025, in St. Albans. He was born in Glens Falls, NY, February 21, 1951 to Malcolm James, Sr. and Audrey JoAnne (Harder) Mattison. Bill married Sandra LaFrance and she passed April 13, 2007. He then married Sandra Gebo, and she passed April 23, 2025. He worked as a Correctional Officer for the Vermont Department of Corrections, retiring after over 25 years. He served our country in the Viet Nam Era with the United States Marine Corp.

Bill especially enjoyed visits to the Maine coast and spending time at the ocean. He had a special place in his life for Lake George, NY. He also was an avid trout fisherman and hunter. Bill also spent many hours and miles on his motorcycle. Bill had a special place in his heart and life for his Catholic Faith.

He is survived by his siblings Connie Rockwood and spouse James Rockwood of Zephyr Hills, FL, Malcolm James Mattison Jr.of St. Albans, VT, Arthur Mattison of Claremont, NH, Ellis Mattison and his spouse Aleta of St. Albans, Linda Shrack and spouse William Shrack of St. Albans, VT, his step-son Joel LaFrance of Salem, NH

William was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm James Mattison Sr. and Audrey JoAnne Mattison, his wives Sandra and Sandy, and his brother Edward Mattison

A Remembrance Gathering and Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, July 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM.

As an alternative to flowers, memorials may be made in his name to, Holy Angels Church.
