Buddy L. Reeves passed away from his earthly home on Monday, July 21, 2025. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. within the Hernando Funeral Home chapel. The service to celebrate his life will be Saturday, July 26th starting at 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Nesbit. A graveside service will conclude all services at Hernando Memorial Park Cemetery.
Buddy was born on October 5, 1951, in Oxford, Mississippi, and graduated from Horn Lake High School in 1969. He joined the Army National Guard in June of 1970 and served proudly, retiring as a Captain in the late 1990s after 25 years of service. Buddy began working at UPS in 1977 as a driver. Through hard work and dedication, he worked his way up into management, eventually retiring in 2012. He was known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to those around him. He married the love of his life, Vicki Smith, on January 7, 1972. Together, they built a beautiful life full of love, family, and purpose.
Buddy was deeply involved with many charitable organizations, helping to raise funds using his cooking talents, and always finding ways to give back to the community.
He is survived by his son, Steven Reeves (Rebecca), and daughter, Shelly Reeves (Cody); and his grandchildren: Patrick Reeves (Shelby), Sarah Perkins (Reed), Trevor Reeves, Mackenzie Spears (Eric), Cooper Jackson, Charlie Jackson, Joseph Reeves (Erin), Jacob Browning, Cole Browning, and Maycee Woods; and great-grandchildren: Rowan Reeves and Rylan Reeves.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Reeves; daughter, Stacy Browning; parents, William E. Reeves and Bonita Reeves; and sister, Barbara Holloway. his son, Steven Reeves.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Dream Factory of Memphis.
