William Schubert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck Funeral Home in Pflugerville on Aug. 21, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

William David Schubert, 56, of Pflugerville, TX, went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2025.

Billy carried himself with a steady peace that calmed the people around him. Courageous, observant, and logical, he didn't shy away from problems but met them head-on, determined to find a solution. His diligence and ambition pushed him to see things through, but his humility and generosity made the biggest mark, whether it was sharing vegetables from his garden, cooking a delicious dinner for his family, or quietly helping a neighbor in need.

Billy was a man of many skills and even more heart. He had a gift for fixing things, but he never stopped at that. He made it his mission to teach others how to do it themselves. Dependable, trustworthy, and wise, he was the kind of man people went to for advice because they knew he would not only have the answer but would also take the time to walk them through it. For the last 28 years, Billy worked as an industrial HVAC mechanic with Johnson Controls, where he got to use his gift of being able to fix anything, work with his hands, and teach others along the way.

More than anything, Billy cherished his family. His wife, Ann, was the love of his life and his constant companion. Together they shared weekend trips with close friends, dinners out and countless everyday joys. He treasured time with their children Joshua, Zachary, and Addison, whether fishing, playing video games with the boys or embarrassing them with his dance moves. Even the family dogs knew the comfort of cuddling up with him on the couch. Billy's greatest pride and purpose were his kids - their accomplishments, their character, and the way they carry themselves with kindness and helpfulness. They were his source of joy.

Billy will be remembered as a man of his word, a teacher, a problem-solver, and a peacemaker. He gave much, asked for little, and lived his life every day with strength. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched and in the family he loved so well.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Schubert; his children, Joshua (Nicole) Schubert, Zachary Schubert, and Addison Schubert; his mother, Virginia Schubert; his brother, Bubba (Leann) Schubert; his sisters, Susanne (Scott) Carter, Kathy (Luke) Wallace and Audra Schubert; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Schubert; his brother, Steve Schubert; father-in-law, George Archambeault; and his niece, Sara Schubert.

A celebration of Billy's life will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at First Baptist Church Pflugerville, with visitation from 4:00-5:00 PM and the service beginning at 5:00 PM. An additional service will be held in his hometown on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at First Baptist Woodsboro, beginning at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Billy Schubert HVAC Memorial Scholarship designation at Austin Community College. Donations can be given at http://austincc.edu/foundation/ and click "Give Now".
