William Kevin Thompson, 62, of Sophia, NC, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025. A lifelong resident of the area, Kevin was known for his deep love for his family, and his passion for classic cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Yvonne "Vonnie" Alford Thompson and William Evon "W.E." Thompson.

Kevin is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Wendy Spivey Thompson; two sons he was endlessly proud of, Ethan Thompson and his wife Katelyn, and Austin Thompson. He also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Kevin had a gift for connecting with people and a heart that welcomed all. He had a special love for classic cars, especially his prized 1977 Dodge Aspen R/T. Over the years, he earned many trophies at shows - but for Kevin, it was never about the awards, it was about time spent with friends and supporting good causes.

He cherished time with his sons, whether watching them tinker on projects or simply being in their company. Kevin's quiet strength, steady presence, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, NC. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point, NC.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the funeral home.

In honor of Kevin's generous and compassionate spirit, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. The family encourages you to support a cause that holds personal meaning or reflects the values Kevin held dear.
