Wilma Ann Overall Pickard, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Born on July 22, 1929, she was the eldest child of Malcolm Elmore and Ruby Norris Max Overall, and from the very beginning she carried herself with the quiet strength, grace, and kindness that would define her life.
A proud 1947 graduate of Byars Hall High School, Wilma dedicated much of her early career to shaping young minds as a first-grade teacher at Holmes Elementary School. Her patience and gentle spirit left lasting impressions on countless students who remembered her long after leaving her classroom. In 1968, when her husband, C. B. Pickard, was elected Tipton County Property Assessor, Wilma stepped faithfully into a new calling serving beside him as Deputy Assessor. She served the county from 1968 until her retirement in 1992, becoming a trusted and respected presence in the courthouse.
Wilma accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the tender age of nine, beginning a lifelong devotion to her church and her faith. She served joyfully as a pianist and as a Sunday School teacher for most of her life, sharing her love of music and Scripture with all who were blessed to learn from her.
A true sports enthusiast, Wilma loved nothing more than cheering on those she loved. Whether watching her family compete or rooting passionately for her favorite teams, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Memphis Tigers. She was happiest in the stands or in her favorite chair, celebrating every basket, hit, touchdown and every win. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and her delight in the games brought joy to all around her.
Wilma was preceded in death by her loving husband, C. B. Pickard; her parents, Malcolm and Ruby Overall; her brother, Richard Overall; and her sister, Rosella McClain.
She is survived by daughter, Letitia Wilson, her sister, Camille Gibson- Gibbs, her grandchildren; Andrea Swain (Mike), Clay Wilson (Bree), great grandchildren; Austin Black (Kailee), Bailey Black (Marissa), Brylee Wilson, Mac Wilson, great great grandchildren; Demi Black, Theo Black, Brooks Black, and Charlotte Black.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Maley Yarbrough funeral home with the service to follow at 2pm. Burial will be held at Shiloh cemetery.
Memorials may be offered to Shiloh Cemetery (1861 Garland Dr. Covington, TN 38019) or Garland Baptist (1776 Garland Dr. Covington, TN 38019) in her honor.
