Wilma Schell (Miller) Obituary Wilma Jane Schell (Miller), age 91, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at The Willows in Willard.
Wilma was born on February 19, 1934, to the late Robert F. and Alice A. (Shawberry) Echelberry in Plymouth, Ohio. She graduated from Plymouth High School in the class of 1952.
For 33 years, she worked as a cashier then as a front office manager for Kroger before retirement. As of April 10, 2010, Wilma became a full time 'Floridian' enjoying many happy years at Tropical Harbor Estates in Lake Placid, Florida. In January of 2019, she stayed at Orchid Cove Lake Placid nursing home and then she was moved to The Willows in Willard in March of 2022.
Over her lifetime, she enjoyed Lake Erie life of boating, fishing and swimming. Also, she attended horse shows and valued the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who love to call her 'GG'. Her favorite color was purple.
Those who will cherish her memories include her children: Sheree (Lloyd Davis) Purcell of Punta Gorda, Florida, Joe (Susan) Schell of Lebanon, Ohio and Larry (Robin) Schell of Mansfield, Ohio; her grandchildren: Jeremy (Briana) Schell, Kelsey (Chaz) Zellner, Kayla (Kenny) Means, and Julie (Michael McCoy) Sanders; her great grandchildren: Conin Zellner, Stella Zellner, Kipton Zellner, Liam Means, Lyly Means, Masson Sanders, Cooper Sanders and Gracee Sanders; her sister-in-laws: Ilona Echelberry of Bucyrus, Ohio and Vickie Echelberry (David) Rohner of Lake Placid, Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence R. Schell, whom she married on November 20, 1954; her grandchild, Erick Schell; her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Betty Echelberry; her brothers: Robert Echelberry and John Echelberry; her nephews: Rodney Echelberry and Errin Echelberry; and her 'furry child', Abbie Jane.
Friends and family may come to honor Wilma's life from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery at 116 1/2 S. Gamble Street, Shelby, OH 44875.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Wilma's memory to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 22116-7023 or Plymouth Historical Society, 7 East Main St., Plymouth, OH 44865.
