SEWELL, WILMA JEAN (nee BANKS), age 83, of Waterford, passed away February 16, 2024. She was born on June 29, 1940, in Campton, Kentucky, daughter of the late Sterling and Emma Banks (nee Moore). Loving mother Judy (Ken) Pfohl, Diana Hanson, Sheila Emhoff, Jacquelin (Rick) Orona, and Tammi (Marv) Darga; proud grandmother of Michael Clarke, Angela Wright, John Kennedy II, Rachel Monahan, Jeremy Poquette, Bradley Pfohl, Rachel Pfohl and Nathan Orona; great grandmother of many. Dear sister of Lloyd Banks and Ronnie Banks. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Polly Banks, Jewell Walker, Loraine Sue Springer, Dale Banks, Corbett Banks, and Carl Banks. Wilma worked for General Motors for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, gardening, and her porch swing. She was also an active member of the Pine Knob Missionary Baptist Church in Clarkston. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 12:00 Noon at Pine Knob Missionary Baptist Church, 3293 Waldon Center Drive, Clarkson. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Arrangements entrusted to Coats Funeral Home- Waterford. Entombment Christian Memorial Cultural Center in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Memorial donations in Wilma's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association. Kindly keep Wilma and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
