Wilton was born on October 16, 1940, in Lake Charles, LA to Wilson and Hazel Kegley, and was called to his Heavenly Father on April 29, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Wilton was a perfectionist upholstery man by trade who loved his job, and always saw the good in people. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and especially loved playing French music. He was very proud of his family, children, and grandchildren, they were his world. Wilton was the most kindhearted and generous soul, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Wilton is survived by his sons, Michael Kegley (Gail), Shelton Kegley (Melissa), Kendell Kegley (Holly), Wilton "Boogie" Kegley Jr (Kristen).; stepdaughters; Marilyn Vincent (Mike) and Martha Meyers, sisters Florence Johnson and Lisa Oswald (John). As well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Wilton is preceded in death by father Wilson "Will" Kegley and mother Hazel Beard Stoutes, daughters; Cynthia F. Freeman, and Mónica L. Guidry, stepson; Leon Guidry, one great-grandchild, Shawn Issac Van, sister, Beverly Kegley Spell. Brothers-in-laws; Charles Spell and Johnny Johnson, Stepfather Donald Stoutes.
Funeral services for Wilton will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 8:00 AM until the time of his Service at 11:00 AM.
